First night back in Cambodia from Vientiane – actually, just a few hours after I arrived back in Phnom Penh, was the event I have been looking forward to even before I got here months ago. Diplo was in Cambodia. Repeat. Diplo was in Cambodia. Rare to have famous people come to this place because artists hardly make a profit – Diplo’s tickets were 40,000 Won ($40) in Korea but in Cambodia, they were $6 pre-sale and $8 at the door. So.. was I going to miss this despite the fact that I was really tired/hungover from my last night in Laos & the flight.. AND despite the fact that my first day at work was the morning after at 7:30am? Obviously, not.
Although the event said it would start at 9:30pm, we weren’t fooled. Instead, we went toPontoon at midnight and Diplo didn’t even start playing until an hour or two later. He was pretty awesome and it was a lot of fun. Check out Kampuchea Party Republic, Nick Sells Photos of the night at: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150228910492233.326114.392297072232
Oh, and as a bonus, here’s a funny picture of Diplo ‘planking’ on an elephant in Cambodia.
