Christmas in Boston

When I first came to the U.S. a little over 4 years ago – I was not a fan of Christmas. I’ve always celebrated Christmas but not in a traditional way. Cambodia is hot all year round and most of our christmases were spent at church and dinner. Nobody really made a big fuss out of it. We didn’t have christmas trees or presents to open.

Christmas in Boston is too cold and too colorful. For someone far away from family, it sucks to be in the christmas spirit. I, too, want to go christmas shopping and celebrate it with my loved ones but instead I’m surrounded by all these lights and laughter which I feel like I can’t be a part of. But I’ve definitely grown to love it. Four christmases later – I love it all. It really is a beautiful time of the year (minus the cold. I still don’t like the cold).IMG_4017 IMG_4000 IMG_4025 IMG_4033 IMG_4049 IMG_4060 IMG_4096 IMG_4127

This year, I’ll be spending Christmas in Boston but at least my sister and I will have each other and we’ll have house full of travelers :) Looking forward to having our mini Christmas together :)

How are you celebrating your christmas?
